K.Ramadas is a member of the Malaysian Bar and runs
his own successful maritime law and consulting business in Malaysia
For over 18 years he spent time in the Malaysian Ministry of Transport
involving himself in the major fields of legislative drafting, maritime
law, port operations management and development, shipping operations
and management, and prevention, control and regulation of marine
environment pollution. During this period he held various positions
starting from Planning Officer for ports and going on to be Secretary,
ASEAN Committee on Transport and Communications, Head of the Maritime
Division Shipping unit and Head of the Maritime Safety unit.
In private consulting, Ramadas has worked on numerous regional transport
infrastructure privatization projects including work for the Asian
Development Bank in port privatization in India , review of privatization
of ports in Malaysia for UN ESCAP and other port privatization and
legislation projects for Sarawak, Sabah and India.
He has also been instrumental in drafting legislation for Safety
of Seafarers and conducting reviews of Marine Environmental Legislation
in Malaysia. He has led delegations to attend various UNCTAD, UN
and IMO conferences.
He is currently a visiting lecturer at University Technology, Malaysia
and is an examiner and tutor for the Chartered Institute of Ship
Brokers . |

Ross is a founding shareholder of an industrial and
marine engineering company that became within a period of five years,
one of the most highly regarded and successful companies in this
field in New Zealand. He has planned, managed and successfully delivered
on client expectations on various ship engineering projects in S.America,
Norway, Greece, Japan, S.Korea, Singapore, S.Africa, Australia and
New Zealand. Project values have ranged from USD 1 to 7.5 million
in areas like major conversions, collision repairs, dry-docking
management, main engine replacements and rebuilds, salvage repairs,
and construction design improvements. Recently he successfully implemented
a complete technical and quality management system for ship operations
in Sweden. |

Dr.Vis is one of the world's foremost authorities
on material failure analysis and on non-destructive testing methods.
Based in Houston, Texas he is currently a Technical Director for
the Marine and Materials Evaluation Division of a large materials
analytical services company in Hampton, Virginia. He has authored
numerous publications on topics like bunker fuel selection and testing,
materials fatigue damage assessment and condition monitoring of
offshore structures. He is presently authoring a book.
Previously he has been a chief engineer for various shipping companies,
a works manager for a ship repair and engineering company and for
six years held the position of Senior Surveyor for the American
Bureau of Shipping. He was also a Director of the ABS Worldwide
Technical Services (ABSTECH), the industrial Inspection and Quality
Assurance Group of the American Bureau of Shipping.
He is an authorized inspector (A1) of the National Board of Boilers
and Pressure Vessels Inspectors , U.S.A, nominated level 3 ASNT
by ABS in radiographic,ultrasonic,magnetic particle and liquid penetrant
testing methods, a certified welding inspector of the American Welding
Society (AWS) and an ISO 9000 Lead Auditor/Lead Assessor, U.S.A..
He is past chairman of the Indian Institute of Non-Destructive Inspection
Engineering . He is also on the roster of experts for the International
Maritime Organization ( IMO) and a consultant to MARAD, Dept. of
Transportation, Federal Government of U.S.A.
Dr.Vis is widely recognized in the marine industry worldwide for
his analytical expertise and has saved ship owners many thousands
of dollars in assessing and preventing materials failure and also
through assessing and identifying right type of fuel grades and
blends for marine engines. He travels to many countries lecturing
on engineering and on material and fuel oil analysis subjects. |
